Lenten Midweek Worship to focus on expressions of our Spiritual Journey During Lent, we will celebrate Mid-week Worship and Dinners on Wednes-day nights. Dinners will be simple soup and salad and some bread served at 6:00 pm. Following that, we will head to the Sanctuary at 7:00 pm for a worship. This year, our Ministry in Context Student, Abel Arroyo, will be direct-ing us in some meditative processes to help us access the things that move us in faith. Enveloped in the Holden Evening Prayer, Abel will guide us through exercises that help us access our senses about God’s presence and work in our lives. Each week will be a little different, drawing on various mediums to help us become more attuned to God. He will be using art, story-telling, quiet and other tried and true processes. At the end of the Lenten Journey, he hopes that we will be able to share some of these experiences by compiling some of the stories and exercises we have participated in. We hope you will participate.
During the school year, Christ Lutheran Church offers two different worship experiences, tailored to what you and your family need.
The Contemporary Worship Service is a kid-friendly service geared toward time-crunched families on a tight schedule. This 8:30 am worship offers a contemporary look and feel. The music style, worship elements and everything about service reaches out to busy families. They can worship with their family, and still have time to meet their kids’ scheduled commitments.
The Traditional Worship Service speaks to those who want to take it easy on Sunday mornings, sleep in, ease into their day, and then attend worship at 10am. This worship has a traditional feel, reflected by familiar hymns, accompanied by the Adult Choir and Bell Choir. It’s for those people who want to re-connect with the type of worship they grew up with. It will be a time of familiar music, liturgy and song, with a message geared toward their life challenges.
The Thursday Evening Bible Study covers many bible related topics. This small group meets at 7pm offsite from the church twice a month. The group is doing a study on the variety of writings by the Apostle Paul.
Women Who Brunchmeets the 3rd Saturday of each month for brunch and Bible/Book Study from 10am until noon. The subject for this year is Red Letter Living.
